I am running to make a difference in our current one-party Council make-up. Also, this is an Open seat and I believe my professional and Life experiences will be of benefit to the residents of the 4th Ward and citizen of Ann Arbor in general. Also, my family has a long history of public service in the community including my great grandfather who served on the City Council in the 1920's and my uncle was the Deputy Superintendent of the Ann Arbor Public Schools in the 1970's. Finally, as a homeowner, I am concerned that our property tax dollars are spent in a responsible manner
Ann Arbor is consistently ranked as one of the most desirable locations to live in the US. While this is an excellent place to live, it is also becoming increasingly expensive due to high rents and rising property taxes. I hope to address ways to make housing options more affordable for more people.
Ann Arbor has a 650 million dollar budget which is filled with extraneous and unnecessary wasteful spending. I plan to focus on expenditures and address and hopefully eliminate wasteful spending once on Council.
